Oh please don’t. My cancer was found incidentally. I don’t smoke (yes I have had the random party cigarette over the years but my oncologist said not enough to matter). Carcinogenesis is such a complicated thing— I have a spontaneous genetic mutation. I will probably never know what caused it.

Lung cancer comes with horrible stigma. It delays care and hurts people's chances.

That is of course true. But there are particulars to the aging of the baby boomer generation (size, for one) and the decline of certain societal supports (as Cottle demonstrates) that make this particularly acute right now.
