Match 31 of 25/26 - Wrexham (H)
First game post Bannan.
Wrexham weren't great and a bit lucky to get a 1-0 win. A couple of decent chances for Cademarteri; goal came from a break down the right where the young full back struggled all game.
Great to see the sunshine for the first time in weeks! #swfc

The stress of tax return deadlines at work, Bannan leaving, including an emotional day in Bristol on Saturday and now all these farewell posts and videos, and Dry January are not a good combination. 🥹 #swfc

Match 30 of 25/26 - Bristol City (A)
Nothing important to say about the match itself; just another loss in an horrendous season.
A really emotional day saying goodbye to a Wednesday legend. 🥹
Thanks for the memories Barry and good luck wherever you go. #swfc

Match 29 of 25/26 - Birmingham City (H)
Actually enjoyed quite a bit of that game. Defended well, worked hard & more threat going forward. Positive to not concede until 82 min.
Really hope it's not Bannan's last game; he deserves to bow out in front of a full house, and lots missing tonight. #swfc

Match 28 of 25/26 - Portsmouth (H) (missed Brentford in cup due to flu)
Same old story; competitive for 60 mins without looking like scoring, then concede a poor goal & look shattered.
I was more hopeful of a result today against a poor Pompey side we'd already beaten, but never looked likely #swfc

Match 27 of 25/26 - QPR (A)
Another tough watch and a long day.
Up at 4:20am for 12pm KO, and at 5pm, still not home.
Players looked shattered; played ok in patches but lost goals to mistakes when tired again.
Away end unusually muted, but understandably so.
At least I won £48 on coach bingo! #swfc

Match 26 of 25/26 - Preston North End (A)
Thought we started the game reasonably well, but went to pieces after the first goal, never really threatened and looked tired & defensively frail again.
A great away following considering the circumstances and how inconsequential the matches now feel #swfc

Bluesky is back! Happy New Year everyone! 🎉
The start of my new year is likely to be spoiled by the result away at PNE today, but I'm travelling in hope once again. Football wise 2026 can't be much worse than 2025 #swfc 💙

I've always found New Year overhyped and much prefer Christmas, but it's lovely to have a decent break from work at this time of year.
Today was the perfect day to visit the coast with my parents; cold but sunny, and Filey at its beautiful best. 🥰

Match 25 of 25/26 - Blackburn Rovers (H)
Started shakily but the players grew into the game and earned a well deserved point.
Massive congratulations to the young boys once again, and the older pros who looked out on their feet, but kept going. Special praise to Cole McGhee on his full debut.

Match 24 of 25/26 - Hull City (H)
I was expecting a rout so I'll take that as a Christmas miracle; 2 goals and a deserved point for the young Owls. 🎉🥰💙
Great effort from the players once again, and nice to see them get some reward.

A busy day yesterday including parkrun and driving my parents to York and back for a lovely Christmas lunch with my brother and family.
Yesterday's parkrun took me to 56 miles for @runup2christmas.bsky.social - great compared to my 50k target, but the knee is still troublesome.
December 26, 2025 at 11:42 AM
A reminder that if you need some company today, parkrun is a great place to meet other people for a festive run or walk, or even join in as an enthusiastic supporter.
Starting at 9am at towns throughout the UK and beyond.
I'm heading out shortly #JoinIn

Thanks for another amazing year of #DuvetKnowItsChristmas

Match 23 of 25/26 -Ipswich Town (A)
Another match with plenty of promise, decent play & chances, but undone by intercepted passes, poor defending, & running out of steam.
Now treating these away days as a day out, so nice to enjoy a couple of hours in Bury St Edmunds including a walk with Dad. #swfc

Woman in the park: She was 96.
Her friend: 96. I guess she was ready to go.
Woman: Are you kidding? She ordered new curtains last week. When I called her and asked, ‘Are they nice?’ she said, ‘No they're not. I won’t use that company next time I need new curtains.’

The Team Manvers annual Christmas fairy lights run. A lovely evening with lots of beeps of support from cars along the route.
Two of us adding to the @runup2christmas.bsky.social mileage and sporting festive attire from 4 different years events.

Match 22 of 25/26 - Derby County (H)
Christmas decorations up but a really poor performance against a very poor Derby side.
The takeover can't come quick enough; I'm now at the stage of going to matches expecting a loss & it not hurting in the slightest when it happens which is a weird feeling #swfc

First race since falling & breaking a wrist in July, halfway into a 50K run.
My comeback has been hampered by injury; but lovely to be able to run the Percy Pud 10k again.
My time of 64:50, is nearly 10 mins slower than my PB, but faster than I was expecting, and I met Sheffield royalty. 💚 #Running

Match 21 of 25/26 - Blackburn Rovers (A)
Match abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch 😏
I got soaked on the walk back to the car, and the drive home on the motorway was horrendous, but at least it's a weekend watching #swfc play them not losing. 💙🦉
December 6, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Months of injuries and niggles starting with a broken wrist in July but lovely to manage 3 runs in 3 days without any ill effects.
A great run around the snowmen of Doncaster yesterday followed by support crew duties at Doncaster 10k, and my first run of @runup2christmas.bsky.social this evening. 🥰

Match 20 of 25/26 (didn't go to Millwall)- Preston North End (H)
An undeserved loss.
Easy to complain about set piece defending, referee bottling it & missed penalty.
Instead I'll focus on an enjoyable game to watch & plenty of positives - good going fwd, scoring 2 & lots of good performances. #swfc

Match 19 of 25/26 - Sheffield United (H)
The result I expected, but I'd hoped the team would give it a better go.
Not the best day; windscreen wiper came off, so drive home wasn't ideal, and suffered with a migraine all day so could barely see out of one eye, which may have been a blessing #swfc
