My suspicion is that a lot of this accommodation moral panic is happening because some professors at elite schools are assholes who don't know anything about research on learning.

There are obviously aspects that are competitive (admissions, awards) but even there I don’t see how framing it as winners and losers or a status contest is helpful framing. (I think there should be less of that!)

I am glad I decided to adopt a young cat before I lost my last senior. I waffled a lot but it was good not to be all alone in the house.
