This Remembrance Sunday, we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We pay tribute to them and all the veterans and serving personnel who continue to protect our freedom.

At the debate on supporting our high streets I urged the Government to take action to revive our high streets, restore pride in our towns and put small businesses at the centre of Britain’s economic recovery. Reform didn’t even bother to show up to the debate.

Ahead of Remembrance Day it was an honour to plant a poppy in the Speaker’s Constituency Garden at Westminster for all those from Eastleigh who served and who continue to serve. Lest we forget.

On Tuesday evening I was honoured to hold a debate on Support for Disabled Veterans in the House of Commons. Our disabled veterans deserve our gratitude and respect. They should not have to fight for support and care.

Today I presented my Young Carers (Educational and Employment Support) Bill in Parliament which would:

• Require schools to maintain a record of pupils with caring responsibilities.

• Ensure there is a Young Carers Lead in every school. 1/2

I’ve signed this letter calling on Keir Starmer to rethink his plans for mandatory digital ID. A mandatory digital ID system risks deepening digital exclusion. It would disproportionately affect older people, disabled people, and those living in poverty.

I have written to Local Government Minister Alison McGovern along with my Hampshire @libdems.org.uk MP colleagues @dannychambers.bsky.social and @alexkbrewer.bsky.social to express our concerns about Hampshire County Council's plan for local government reorganisation.

I’ve signed this @libdems.org.uk letter calling on the Government to scrap the two child benefit cap. My colleagues and I have been pushing for this in Parliament at every opportunity. It’s time to scrap the cap and lift thousands of children out of poverty.

Following my recent visit to the Guide Dogs Community Team Centre in Chandler’s Ford I have written to the Leader of Hampshire County Council, renewing calls for HCC to reverse its decision to withdraw discretionary “top-up” enhancements to bus passes.

Parliament may be in recess, but I’m still here if you need me! To get in touch with me please email [email protected] and my team and I will do our best to help you.

Along with @libdems.org.uk MP Colleagues I have written to the Secretary of State and Minister to raise continuing concerns about Southern Water and the massive pay increase given to the water company’s CEO.

Recently I joined @riveractionuk.bsky.social and the Test and Itchen Association to test the River Itchen at Bishopstoke. The results were disappointing - though not unexpected - with low biodiversity and high nitrate levels.

A few constituents have contacted me about the decision to remove the CCTV Cameras in Eastleigh town centre. I’m in contact with the local police and council and hopeful that a solution can be found. Meanwhile I’m continuing to call for a new police station for Eastleigh.

I have joined with over 200 MPs urging the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to recognise Palestine as a state now. The UK should be taking the lead on securing a two-state solution and a lasting peace.

Happy Hampshire Day! Along with my @libdems.org.uk MP colleagues @dannychambers.bsky.social and @alexkbrewer.bsky.social I’m so proud to represent a Hampshire constituency in Westminster

Today marks 30 years since the Srebrenica genocide. My thoughts are with all the survivors of the horrific events of July 1995 and all those who lost their loved ones. We must always stand against all forms of hate and prejudice and Remember Yesterday, Act Today.

It is the honour of my life to be the Lib Dem MP for Eastleigh and I am so grateful to everyone who voted for me and everyone who worked so hard to help me get over the line. I’ll keep fighting for Eastleigh every single day.

A year ago today I was knocking on doors and running on ice cream - and I had no idea how much my life was about to change.

97 years today since women won the vote - great to meet female politics students in St Stephen’s Hall this morning, where suffragettes chained themselves to the statues in 1909. #WomenInPolitics

I was so pleased to meet with my constituent Jane, widow of late football legend Chris Nicholl. Chris sadly died last year from dementia caused by Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a result of heading footballs over the course of his incredible career.
June 27, 2025 at 11:23 AM
Today I wrote to the Chancellor and the Minister for Work and Pensions expressing my concerns about the Government's planned changes to PIP. Slashing support for those who already face significant challenges will only contribute to more poverty and suffering.
June 24, 2025 at 7:42 PM
I have tabled an amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill to remove the 12-month time bar for historic sexual offences committed against 13 to 15-year-olds before 2004. This amendment would help hundreds of victims get justice and closure.
June 17, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Along with my Lib Dem MP colleagues I have signed this letter to the Prime Minister and David Lammy urging the Government to formally recognise the state of Palestine along 1967 borders.
