When I was in grad school, I was accepted into one of Simic's poetry workshops, but I chickened out because I was afraid of getting a bad grade. 🤦🏻♀️

An untenable situation all the way around. I have a writing buddy who teaches in the Florida prisons. I don't see this poet in his seventies doing double duty as a corrections officer.
