I’m really over the anti-Halloween thing. We have an annual Halloween show on the station and someone called to complain that it’s “not a holiday” bc we don’t get work off. If you have a religious objection that’s fine, but the rest of us have a right to eat candy in a costume, dammit.

I thought it might be this issue but I didn’t ask them, I was somewhat baffled. I get not having money for costumes, but the rest of it seems like overcomplicating the issue.

It’s interesting that the blame for Dems losing gets placed with progressives. There seems to be a deep fear of candidates within the dem party who voice progressive views (Mamdani?). What if dems actually addressed the issues affecting constituents instead of compromising on deeply held values 1st?

Klein’s not on the right track. He’s flailing because he can’t defend what he wrote, particularly when faced with someone (Coates) who’s cleareyed about what was wrong with it. Saying we might need to run a “pro life Democrat” in order to win in rural US is easy to say if your life isn’t on the line

Meanwhile there’s this. So disturbing. I would bet money that the majority of the people commenting on Aaron’s page and leaving comments on the restaurant don’t even live in Cinci or know anything about anyone involved.

Saw Spoon tonight and had a similar realization when they played “The Way We Get By”. Multiple decades in!
