I work in broadcasting so I use Audacity every day. I had Thoughts, here they are for anyone who cares
![Audition. I coded a program _from scratch_ called CartListener that looks in a given folder every five seconds and applies cart chunk data to WAV files based on the filename - for example, 00001 will always be tomorrow's Morning Edition promo, and will need a Start Date of [today] and a Kill Date of [tomorrow]. 00006 will always be the Fresh Air promo. 00012 will be Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me, and will need a start date of [today] and a kill date of [this upcoming Saturday]. It's a good solution and saves me literal hours of time (before, I had to import the WAV files to our broadcast automation software and then go in and type the title, start date, and kill date _manually, for each file_), but if there was an option to enter Cart Chunk metadata natively that'd be cool for one-off stuff](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:rsho5qmmzdzibkylbi373rua/bafkreibten7iumdzromcizqgc6x3aua2kicxo4dypsdhtbx6rt4bcxhydy@jpeg)

I found the complaint. I had sent it to one of my coworkers who'd also heard the story. (this was March 20th) I never got a reply.

I work for a local NPR station in [state] and I am a thirty-year-old trans woman. I came out three years ago, and my coworkers have been incredibly supportive of me during this precarious part of my life. I started as a part-time announcer and have recently been promoted to [new position]. I have also lost access to my hormone prescription thanks to [state]'s political climate forcing my former doctor to flee the state, and normal primary care doctors refusing continuation of care. I was listening to Here and Now while I was working, and was shocked and dismayed to hear you platforming/legitimizing the Cass Review. Many Republican lawmakers have cited the Cass Review in their legislation targeting trans people. The evidence base for hormones and puberty blockers among trans youth is *not* weak, the Cass Review consulted conversion therapists, people who refuse to accept the existence of trans people, and people who advocated for bans on trans care, and excluded data that didn't fit their narrative. Cass rejects most trans-positive studies because they are not "double blind" or "randomized controlled trial-based", and yet many of the studies she accepts don't adhere to these criteria either. The Cass Review also generally assumes that children are being pressured into being trans, and ignores that these decisions are made between children, their loving parents, and their doctors. Also, "many European countries" have *not* withdrawn support for trans care. Earlier this month, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria recently released their guidelines for trans youth, strongly recommending care and slamming the Cass Review. Why do you leave out this important context? As an employee of an NPR station, this has shaken me. I thought we weren't supposed to be Fox News.
