Near the boat the very tip of the serpent's tail bursts from the surface, looking an awful lot like the head and neck of a sea serpent. The serpent itself has a sharp-toothed dragon head, and large scales running down its body, with fins in a few places.

I do some bookbinding for fun, but haven't done a whole grimoire on my own. ARCANUM BESTIARUM from Three Hands Press covers different magical traditions around animals. They had calligrapher Gail Coppock create a font based on my style, so it's a lovely book.
