It's even in places like Discord, people adding unicode characters or emoji to Channel names for aesthetics. Discord already has its own accessibility issues on its own and people just add on to it unfortunately, albeit unintentionally.

This is a harmful practice to people who use screen reader as it adds a lot of fluff while providing the viewer with no actual useful information. I view it as being hostile to people who use accessibility features, intentional or otherwise. Accessibility Hostility is everywhere and goes unnoticed.🧵

Alt Text is an accessibility tool for Screen Readers, used to describe imagery, text that appears within imagery and only that. It should not be used as a means to append additional information to an image that is not originally present within it, and bypassing Bluesky's Character count. 🧵

Not a dig at OP, but WT is so... so bad... in ways i cannot explain. Everytime i see an Artist shooting for Originals via Call to Action or otherwise. a part of my soul dies.

I think a lot of it boils down to people not realizing *just how long* strips actually are, and so many people just scroll so quickly. A full Webtoon Original Episode is like... 10+ pages in a traditional comic format. Where some comics take a week to get a single page out. Severely underestimated.

bias just indiscriminate blocking. Again I have zero issues with blocking on an individual basis. But lists promote a culture of toxicity, especially on a site that advocates, and who's community supports and pushes being Inclusive and Supportive, blocklists feel completely antithetical to that. 5/5

You are accepting another person's biases, dislikes, disinterests, and other similar tastes. Things that you might be okay with seeing, they might not be and as a result, content you'd want to see is now entirely stripped from you. Or worse if its a botted block list, where there's no such- (4/?)

I'm not saying blocking is bad, but a lot of the blocklists i see have people in WILDLY different spheres. So chances are if you are blocking a list for a specific group, you'll also end up blocking a completely OTHER group of people not to mention, since they are "curated" (3/?)

myself with stuff like this. But when I think of the people on this site. Blocklists kinda inherently limit your reach? Worse than the other site imo. If you post in a fan tag or whatever, and a potential follower just blindly blocks a whole list. you lost a potential fan. (2/?)

i've started using the OldTwitter extension whenever i go to twitter. Has a setting that lets me view my feed in Reverse Chronological w/o retweets. Keeps out all the cruft i don't care about and lets me focus on what i do.
