“Normalcy” is a banner in U.S. Politics that has rotted roots.

Normalcy as a political platform arises when the party in power fears the participation of a previously disenfranchised group.

This happened during:

Deconstruction
Women’s Suffrage
Civil Rights
Expanded of voter services

And 2024

To explain this a little more.

Evidence only needs to be redacted if it would compromise an ongoing investigation.
The DOJ has 30 days to evaluate every file & piece of evidence in the SDNY investigation.

Can this be classified? If not: Does it jeopardize an investigation?

Does it identify victims or children?

Does it show sexual/death material?

IF any of those hold, THEN withholding/redaction MAY be lawful.

When studying different democracies, it is easy to forget that a Parliament and a Congress are similar in name only. 💫

Puritan pilgrims are most famous for their helplessness. They were aristocrats that had fallen out of favor with the royalty because of their extreme religious practices and beliefs. Instead of public execution, the king decided it would be more humane to send them to their certain doom on a boat.

When I see demands for new leadership, it is treating Congress like a parliamentary cabinet.
And that’s not how this system functions.

In the U.S., leadership roles in Congress are administrative and procedural, not governing positions that define policy for the entire country.

Unity is voluntary.

Corporate boycotts can harm large institutions but also push economic activity toward businesses that are often more conservative.
Local owners have more control, fewer legal constraints, can easily silence employee voices, and rarely unionize.
These posters started popping up ahead of next week’s We Ain’t Buying It boycott.

From Nov 27 - Dec 1, folks are stepping back from corporate chains like Target, Home Depot, and Amazon. People are done being squeezed, so they are using the leverage of their wallets 💥

In 1994, Ukraine signed the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances, a cornerstone of nuclear disarmament. This memorandum was Ukraine's commitment to relinquish the third-largest nuclear arsenal.

Since 2014, all signatories have violated their commitments to Ukraine.

So yes, worse than Gaza.

We remember Trump’s Rebellion as a bumbling attempt at a coup, so inept that the public didn’t take it seriously. The clumsy schemes that followed forced everyone to take a more serious look at the country and themselvises.

It may or may not be interesting that the religious zealots who sailed from the British Isles were the third diaspora of white people and the second of those who believed that the territory we call New England had been promised to them by an old man with a long white beard, who lived in the sky.

Centrists may seem suspiciously flexible to the younger set, but they aren’t actively trying to destroy democracy. That counts for a lot more than it used to.
