Just back from a superb Railway Touring Co trip to Germany. Finally got to ride the Harz narrow gauge railway and Wuppertal 'dingle-dangle' Schwebebahn, both of which have been on my bucket list for years. Also lots of other interesting heritage trams and railways! Highly recommended

Lovely day at the Steam Gala at Didcot Railway Centre.
4 engines in steam, and lots going on!
Also fantastic that the centre finally has step-free access, long overdue and very welcome to the mobility-impaired members of our party.

A few pics from a lovely trip to the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway Diesel and Steam gala yesterday.
A long day trip from home, but well worth it, with so much going on.

Wow, what a fantastic long weekend playing trains in Derbyshire! Crich Tramway Village on Thurs, Greatest Gathering on Fri, Afternoon Tea on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway on Sat, Peak Rail on Sun and finally a trip to Famous Trains today. Now need to sleep for about a week!

Talyllyn Railway (@Talyllyn.co.uk) No. 3 Sir Haydn (aka Sir Handel) looking very smart in her classic Skarloey Railway livery today. Really stands out in the sunshine.
Luna the dog certainly approves!

A couple from my visit to the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway yesterday. Can't believe it's been nearly 25 years since I was last there. It's a lot of fun, a proper mainline in miniature!
Surprisingly easy to get to from London as well: Took only 1h15 from St Pancras using SouthEastern HS and bus.

A few pics from yesterday at the Severn Valley Railway's Spring Steam Gala. Despite the line being truncated north of Hampton Loade due to a landslip, the railway put on a great show with what was available. The Jubliees certainly woke the place up!

Not being able to drive due to disability is really frustrating sometimes:
Wanted to go to an event today, 1h10 by car, but a whopping 3h30 by public transport (walk, 3 trains and a bus).
What's really annoying is there used to be a direct rail route, but they closed it!

Good bit of post-Christmas steam (and gronk) action in the fog at the lovely Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway (@chinnorrailway.bsky.social)
Very popular today with train almost full.
They're running again tomorrow and on New Years Day.

And then onto yesterday, the Rheidol Steam Festival at the Vale of Rheidol Railway, with all available locos in steam and Palmerston visiting from the Ffestiniog Railway.
Well worth the long train ride to get to/from.

A few pics from my trip to the Beachy Head launch event at the Bluebell Railway on Friday.
The new Atlantic looks and sounds superb, a credit to the team who built her.
Also some good runs with 34059 and Fenchurch.

More trains: Friday's trip to the Winter Steam Gala at the Spa Valley railway between Tunbridge Wells and Eridge.
An excellent event with 5 locos in steam, two passenger sets and brake van rides. Also, I finally got my first ride behind the gorgeous Caledonian 828.

Lets make my first post on BlueSky a bit steamy!
A few photos from my first ever visit to the Battlefield Line in Leics, for their Winter Warm Up gala.
A very busy event with 3 Locos in steam and lots going on.
