4) Kwaidan by Meitei. This was the album that finally made the act of making music click into place in my brain and pushed me to try. Meitei has a relationship to sound that I deeply relate to, and that helped me reframe my hearing issues as a reason to try making music instead of a reason not to.

3) Machinarium - Tomas Dvorak

the first indie game I ever played and one of the best soundtracks ever composed. the amount of world-building that this man can accomplish out of beep boops and little robot noises, complete with devastatingly beautiful horn and wind sections, is unmatched.

2) American McGee's Alice - Chris Vrenna

The first video game soundtrack I ever heard and I've never stopped loving it or thinking about it. This was the first time I ever learned that you could make samples and instruments out of every-day objects and create entire atmospheres out of them.

1) Glowing Pains - Tim Shiel

This is the soundtrack to the Gardens Between and it completely changed my relationship to music. Tim was kind enough to give me a lot of useful advice early on into my music-making endeavors and his approach to sampling and arranging have always inspired me.

I had ended 2024 feeling like I hadn’t really done much by way of creating, but while making this collage, I discovered that is simply not! true!

Finished Scavengers Reign last week and haven’t stopped thinking about it, especially in light of….everything. Enjoy a happy, peaceful Levi and his thriving garden. Highly recommend if you need something that isn’t exactly hopeful, but maybe a blueprint.

a piece i did a few years back to process some stuff. horror and hauntings are such a good space for making sense of hard things.

something a little different that i drew last week after the latest round of “what new way is my body falling apart now.” i have Ehlers Danlos and lovingly refer to my joints as the escape routes of whatever twigs, vines and wildlife are perpetually trying to break free.
