After 65 hours. I just finished Horizon Forbidden West.

My opinions are that I enjoyed it, but it suffered from the same thing that a lot of modern open world games suffer from: the size of the world is not proportional to the scope of gameplay systems, which leads to it feeling repetitive.

This is interesting. If this really is a strategy for military conflict, I wonder if the opposing forces would treat the civilian ships as combatants

The lede:
> At least 16 oil tankers hit by U.S. sanctions appear to have made an attempt to evade a major American naval blockade…

This perspective is so one-sided. The blockade is illegal!

From Horizon Forbidden West, I've learned that San Francisco is actually just a collection of abandoned skyscraper office buildings 😅

My take on today’s news: you know how political analysts said that Putin was trying to build an empire when he invaded Ukraine? Trump is doing the same thing with Venezuela (and it’s just as illegal and immoral)

I just "played" a literal hour-long dialogue tree in Horizon Forbidden West. This game goes hard.

(At least it was skippable, though. I just chose not to skip it. For a whole hour.)

This year, I finished a whopping 32 games, just about tripling my previous record. Among the 32 are: the entire Killzone series, the entire Battlefield series (except for #6), the entire Wipeout series, the entire Infamous series, and the entire Crysis series.

I thought this article was pretty good, but I thought the tone was a bit misleading, because it is, in fact, illegal to run an unregistered church in China. So another equally valid way to frame this story is “China enforces Chinese laws”
