This fabulous Jaguar XJS yesterday. Can’t remember the last time I saw one in the wild.
A 1989 / G-registered Jaguar XJS, with a quad headlight kit, sitting on shiny chrome wire effect alloys. Not sure if it’s black or a very dark green, but it is SHINY and gorgeous. It’s parked in a harvested straw field, in glorious sunshine.

I have Book 2 news!

First of all, the good: I had the chance to sit in (and examine) a Canberra PR7 cockpit the other weekend, as well as have a look at a few other bits to help my research. It’s hard to explain just how much seeing my protagonist’s “office” in person has helped.

Just finished reading this - partly for interest, and partly Book 2 research.

It’s fascinating, thought-provoking, and damning. The thread from a state which saw fit to do this - and attempt similar with the Skripals - to the state currently attacking Ukraine is all too clear …

I did my first author event yesterday! Back at the ACW West Midlands group I went to, all those years ago when I was first writing Banshee. It was so lovely to see some familiar faces.

It was a joy to share some of the Cold War history, aviation and espionage that inspired me to write.

It feels as if the world is trying to set us all on fire (in the UK, at least), so I give you a butterfly on a buddleia. I don’t know which butterfly it is. But it brought me joy earlier, so … enjoy 😊

An olive green Fordson tractor. I am not a tractor enthusiast, so can say nothing apart from its 1930s/1940s in vintage. It has a cranking handle. East Kirkby’s B-25 Mitchell on static display out on the field. Mosquito HJ711 mid taxy down the airfield. A few photos from Lancs, Tanks & Military Machines at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby on Monday. If you haven’t been to this place, and you’re interested in WW2 aviation, you really should. It’s a cracking day out. And even if you’re not, the food is awesome 😄

What this photo doesn’t show is the wind - but it was still a lovely sight.

Lego Technic build restarted: on bag 15 of 17 of the Volvo FMX lorry and EC230 electric excavator. Young Mr R is very excited to see the excavator beginning to come together 😄

Young Mr R LOVES his Lego, and he’s been saving really hard for the Lego Technic Volvo FMX lorry and excavator. He hit the target and got his Lego this morning 😁

So this weekend, we shall mostly be building a Lego HGV!

Blast from the past while clearing things out today. I hung onto the manual and books from my beloved 1998 SEAT Arosa - which was scrapped nearly 8 years ago 🙈

The handbooks from a 1998 SEAT Arosa - including list of dealerships, radio handbook, owners manual, and service book. All in nearly new condition. All the handbooks in their original wallet. The card for the supplying dealership is still on the left hand side. The closed wallet. It’s very Nineties, with a wavy yellow spine and bright blue cover.

I’m not usually one for violence, however, I’m seriously wishing a pox on whoever decided a sycamore tree was a good idea in a suburban house garden …

Also, this appears to be the garden corner where the local cats/wildlife like to go to the toilet. It stinks 🤢
