agreed. @gordonhodsonphd.bsky.social and I have a paper under review that examines predictors of (a) belief in the existence of systemic racial inequality and (b) support for policies to remedy systemic racial inequality. we would love to read any references you could suggest on the distinction.

in response to your "it appears so" claim, I've heard from faculty (a) "The Chancellor went on record saying that UMass would not join the compact at the last [faculty] Senate meeting" and (b) "to protect academic freedom, stick to the truth and not misinformation to get people to turn out." 🙏🏻
