The family owned grocery store had large coffee for $32 today, and it's $22 at Walmart. I do shop at the small grocery, but I can't do all my shopping there. Too expensive.

I worked in a steel mill in East Chicago, IN. After WWII, the area mills, of which there were many, from South Chicago to Gary, IN, needed workers badly. The mills sent busses to Mexico to recruit men. It's rather ironic to me now, to think that the US doesn't need foreign workers.

I was finally forced to buy an HRV. I have a Toyota Tundra, which gets 14 mpg. My new Civic gets 49 mpg. My girls attend a high school which is 15 miles away. I kept my truck, and will use it just to keep it running well. And I'm amazed at random people asking if I will sell it.
