I paint plant pots with a focus on native and naturalized flora / fauna / funga in the Pacific Northwest. Based in Portland, OR ✨
Snowberries (Symphoricarpos albus) are a native North American species. They have closely packed white waxy berries that fruit in the fall and remain present on the shrub through wintertime. The berries are inedible to humans but can be a food source for birds.

Oregon Grape (Berberis / Mahonia aquifolium), also known as the holly-leafed barberry, is native to North America and is the state flower of Oregon. Its berries are quite sour but edible, and when sweetened is used in jams! Acrylic on terracotta sealed with polyurethane.

My most recent plant pot! This is of vine maple (Acer circinatum). Inspired by vine maples seen in the fall at Storey Burn Trail in the Tillamook Forest. Acrylic on terracotta sealed with polyurethane.
