I really enjoyed it - it was unusual. I watched Tin Star in much the same hope, but it was odd, and then eventually disappointing.

Apropos to nothing, to go with sausages and mash, I parboiled some sprouts and savoy cabbage then sauteed them up in butter and smoked bacon fat - "nothing new about that", I hear you mutter. Correct. But deglazing the pan with a splash of cider vinegar and then letting them steam in the fumes = 👍

There's a bakery on an industrial estate, in the middle of nowhere that does interesting breads - but it's a forty minute round trip, is bastard expensive and it shuts an hour before the nearest pub opens, so... not exactly helping itself.
