Presumably they've tabled debates for every group that can be identified as deserving equal rights then?

Maybe they're right.

This is a precursor to "I swear she looked nothing like a child".

You can see it actually forces his hand down.

The other angle shows it clearly hitting his hand. For me it's a pen.

Thanksgiving long weekend. I heard Nancy got injured in a crush for 80 inch tellies in the Costco Black Friday sales.

The heaviest daily drinking culture I've encountered was London. Far beyond anything I've seen in Glasgow.

I can't wait for them to invent a 'Scotch breakfast'.

So when it was aiding in the promotion of the WMD line for Blair that was coincidental? It just so happened that the establishment and Labour were aligned. Fair enough.

How awesome is it? I was semi seriously looking at there and back options for seeing them in London tomorrow.

Presumably he was going to sell up and move abroad, living off the proceeds and he'd projected he needed the equivalent of £3m. All his hopes and dreams destroyed. Poor little lamb.

I think the BBC has always represented the govt of the day's interests. We were just less aware of it in the past because access to alternative sources of information was far more limited.
November 29, 2025 at 10:51 AM
Therein lies the problem. As long as we have a state broadcaster, it's always going to be susceptible to govt influence. I'd say it's unavoidable. However, I'd say that's preferable to exclusively commercial media.

George Galloway is socially conservative, a lot of which he claims comes from his Catholicism. I'm not actually sure how much of his politics align with leftist ideas these days, a couple of headline issues maybe but usually only if they overlap with 'anti West' sentiment.

This predates Gibb. I first really became conscious of it around the WMD dossier, which wasn't really challenged but I suspect it goes back longer. I mean it's the state broadcaster, so it's always been under Govt influence. I was too young but I'm sure the line was followed on eg Hillsborough

It's odd that they thrust the news and weather into radio in a way that's hard to avoid. Which is true of commercial stations too though. It's so much easier to avoid on TV.
November 29, 2025 at 9:16 AM
I just said they should kill the news arm. Defending by killing doesn't seem that effective.
November 29, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Oh god is the music being delivered with a right wing bias too? In that case...
November 29, 2025 at 9:05 AM
How about they kill the news arm, rather than throw the whole lot in the bin?

I also have a suspicion that that particular train was cheaper if booked in advance. That doesn't negate the seemingly ridiculous idea of running it empty.
November 29, 2025 at 8:35 AM
Actually it's £33.50. £68 was a return.
