I can remember listening to each of these albums over and over and them affecting the music I was writing. I was also lucky enough to have a local DJ who treated every nights broadcast like a music appreciation class. The Elecifying Mojo kept Prince in heavy rotation.

Eventually it was sold to a very large food manufacturer who tried to hire, pay and treat people better but couldn't fix the damage from the venture capitalists, even with tax breaks. The profits were only there because of the exploitation. Closed within 3 years of acquisition.

I worked 336 for a venture capitalist owned food manufacturer in Michigan for years. Started there during a recession because there was no other work. 80% temps (immigrants & former convicts) trying to make right. Averaged 350 days of work a year for a 4 year span. Paid peanuts (+ insurance).
