(Addendum, quality of work across my field has cratered. Junior work quality is abysmal since it's being done by the lowest bidder. Senior work has suffered because we're short staffed and miserable. There's no longer a "good" option for the data we provide, willingness to pay be damned)

3/ ... back and forth, while we slowly atrophy from burnout, retirement, etc.

And look I'm not an astrophysicist or anything but we're not counting paperclips, either. It's a real field which will have real consequences when it finally dies. And unless something changes, we've got years not decades

2/ Company stopped letting us hire college kids for min. wage as interns to help during the busy season in 2018. Switched to outsourced labor, now trying to cut them out for llms. Competitors did similar.

The result is nobody is on the ladder. Three firms are all swapping the same fifty people...

Honestly, a lot of the high-effort vita games were great. Tearaway is of my fave platformers, but because its control scheme is so vita-centric there has never been (will never be) a one to one port. Only game that made good use of the dumb back touchscreen.

Such is the fate of the Vita's library.

The vita entry remains easily the most impressive fps on that handheld, genuinely nuts they were able to get it on there. Still play it from time to time, proper good game in its own right doomed to obscurity on the vita.

Just moved on to "A Mirror of Shalott", really digging it so far!

What I've read, the vibe has been "what if C. S. Lewis was into horror instead of children's fantasy" and I love it.

Their eps are keeping me going through grad school at the moment (lol). Also a host recommended Robert Hugh Benson a few eps back and his work has been my obsession the last couple weeks. Really, really, consistently solid recs. Anyways, check 'em out! Enjoyment of Whiskey not required.
