As an older gay man I hope they lock him up and throw away the key. But it's ironic he's done for financial misdemeanours with Epstein while those who raped children are unmolested.

This is all very, very English. The price of everything, the value of nothing etc etc.
Education has, as I pointed out, many intangible benefits. They don’t show up with a £ sign on a balance sheet but that makes them no less real to the individual and the life of the nation.

I understand that; he's starting from a very limited view of the value of education ("You earn loadsamoney after?"). I just think that needs to be challenged at every turn.

Define 'benefit'. If you correlate 'level of education' with 'liable to fall for snake oil sales men at election time' you could argue we're not sending enough to Uni.
