Things I miss: Politicians referring to opponents as their respected colleagues. Sentences minus word “shit” in them. A government based on trust. Agree to disagree. Kindness. Feeling my country, in spite of all the problems, was on a good arc. Believing half of what we see and none of what we hear.

I have honestly never minded paying taxes. I've known I was paying for salaries of people, services I might need and others certainly need. I just wrote my (small) check, and I begrudge it.

There seems to be a prevailing opinion that the only reason anyone has to pursue a certain career or vocation is money. No one seems to understand passion, interest, altruism, and fun.

Better services, equally attainable, and higher quality products.

I have a goal for the next week of one call per day to a representative voicing my concerns. I will slowly increase. I'm scared. I need to do something.

I just don’t understand the problem with having a healthy, well educated population.
