Videogames are my passion. All kinds of genres and games. Occasionally Yu-Gi-Oh! Fighting game community in Germany. He/Him
The FGC is actively cheering for games to die, so if that is the consequence, the community deserves it.

I got it purely because it because it's from the mind behind Isaac and word of mouth seems to be good

Das Marketing ging nur an aktive Fighting Game Spieler. Und das sind einfach zu wenige Leute. Es wurde nie wirklich aktiv versucht, es für League-Spieler oder Arcane-Schauer schmackhaft zu machen.

Yes. Strive also had issues with its roster size and game stability, in a worse manner than 2XKO such as private lobbies not working.

Most teams on fighting games post launch are smaller than 80 as they move to new projects. How do you think Arcsys makes multiple new games and maintains multiple running games with only a few hundred people?

Granted, I don't think that downsizing from 160 to 80 devs means that the game is dead. You don't need 6 champion designers to make 4-5 champs per year, and they're not looking to make a sequel. The messaging from Riot doesn't give much confidence into year 2+ though right now.

Yeah it makes sense from Riot's perspective. Why have 6 designers work on champions in a 4-5 releases per year schedule when 2 people can do that?

People cheering for the downfall of studios is not good

Fuse representation in top 24

MMO ist ein verfluchtes Genre.
February 1, 2026 at 10:26 AM
The reason is probably because Double Down requires the least amount of work and Freestyle requires the most. But Freestyle definitely looks like the strongest fuse when you use it right.

This isn't meant to be a jab, I'm in the skill bracket myself that still has a lot of Double Down. But when looking at tournaments I've only seen 1 top level player use the fuse, while almost everybody is on Freestyle with just a few 2X Assists. Looking at Frosty Faustings top 96 for example.
February 1, 2026 at 8:54 AM
Freestyle is by far the most represented fuse at high level. 2X became much rarer and almost no high level player uses Double Down. Similarly to League what sees success depends on the skill bracket and Double Down is good at low to intermediate level.

You get 2 from the starting missions and you can get the others for free by doing weeklies

This is not an issue at all to anyone that played the game for more than a week.
