I must inform the world that The Seance of Blake Manor is a very good, and itself informative, time. It won't be breaking any records, however, and I was hoping for more in the literary department. Nonetheless, it earned my favor and will perhaps earns yours, too.

Caught the second Siodmak/Lancaster combo: Criss Cross. The movie works off a similar setup. Again, Lancaster provides a narrative frame, a fatal attraction to a gal who is maybe too attached to a crook to be trusted, an old friend who is a cop, etc.

the quote is right. DAO is infused with the same juvenalia as its peers (god of war 3, halo 3, etc.). and like Bethesda's Fallouts and several CoDs, it leaves much to be desired visually. it's also a damn sight smarter than any of those games.
