Unless I am a student in a classroom or it’s my boss, I automatically want to do the opposite of whatever the speaker is telling me to do. Turn to the person next to me? No. Clap my hands? Stop. Stand up and stretch? I will kneel on the floor.

I had a glimmer of hope when I asked my 15-year-old niece if she uses AI to write her essays, and she said “no, I actually kind of like writing.”

Four sets of each with 1-2 minutes of rest between is good. If any exercise or weight causes sharp pain, discontinue it. Maybe start with 3 days/week and do one exercise each for chest, back, shoulders, arms, and legs. Also, I am no expert, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt, lol!

Free weights will take a little more balance and can hit more muscle groups with one exercise. But it’s also a little easier to injure yourself. Either way, try to find a weight for each exercise that you can lift 8-12 times in a row, but the last couple of lifts are difficult.

I second this. Strength training will be much more helpful for everyday functioning and for the metabolism. And then add in some cardio as you gain strength and stamina. But anything you do is net positive!

To be fair, he is an adult whose body tends to respond to lots of things by vomiting, but it was . . . not pretty. He gained about half the weight back very quickly after stopping. OTOH, I know several other people who didn’t have serious side effects and really like it. That probably doesn’t help 😬

Not me, but my husband. He did lose about 15% of his bodyweight, which I understand is typical, and his A1C was back in a normal range. However, he had to discontinue because after a while, he started getting side effects that were not tolerable (aka, uncontrollable vomiting for days at a time 😕)

This is incredibly depressing.
