There's also the concerns of 'who is responsible' when these things inevitably result in serous problems (spoilers, it's not the corporations). It seems they're only real purpose is to replace people, which wouldn't be so bad if they were doing something dangerous, rather than replacing artists.

I think the general consensus is that they're a net negative. They CAN be useful, but it's not like they're doing anything special (at least that I've seen), meanwhile they are unethically trained, are hugely bad for the environment and can just make up things.
