I wonder though how many will hear this as being about other people

“yes those lazy bastards should work harder, and earn their summers like me”

Also, just a fundamental misunderstanding of productivity. NZ is decidedly middling per hour worked - we need more down time for education and creative outlets and connectivity, not less.

I now just approach each episode like a stand-alone vignette. Ain’t no way I call recall the plot, characters or even general themes.

Yeah I think it’s deliberate. Or hosting meetings on social issues where they’re not the experts. Seems effective for raising profile though

Someone told me the CRI mergers came up short on finding efficiency/ consolidation savings. Echoes of the DOGE story about tech bros finding government agencies were humming smoothly, nothing to be fixed. So the only saving is to cut back on core work.

Feel your pain. My fancy lemon biscuits “taste like bread” - 11 year old gourmand.

Joke’s on them though, it’s their morning tea for the week.

Once travelled with a group from work and we used the long haul day flight to type away and check in with each other, all normal prep en route to a big meeting right? But yes we were losers. Anyway, the air crew were soooo snarky, one saying “well well, aren’t you all busy little bees”.

Yet another map missing Aotearoa New Zealand.

Te Waipounamu erasure.

They might not mean to, but they do.

Ugh okay, I’ll rethink some of my priors. But just this once, for such a well considered article.

“literally in the name” was a knock-out line.

That’s 100 times cleaner than under the cushions on our couch. Respect.
