Thank you Paul Krugman, very reassuring.

The authors also acknowledge the Trump administration’s illegal use of the law is unique and beyond the Court’s control. That makes this no different from any number of other powers (e.g. pardons) we may wish the president did not have right now.

People involved in this, listen to your friends. They are trying to tell you something important.

Ah, yes. The problem with woke-bashing these days is that we're just not getting creative enough about it. All we need is some new material, that's the issue.

Does NYT ever apply this level of scrutiny to Republicans?

The idea that any person born with the rare genetics enabling them to be a top professional athlete would complain about fairness in sports is just beyond rich.

lol at this NYT article. They billed this piece as taking readers’ questions to explain why they cover Trump the way they do. Instead of offering a defense to substantive critiques, though, they lob this absolute softball at the editor.

Oh yeah, this I definitely don’t buy. There has never been a democracy where the majority of citizens can “debate the issues of the day in detail and at length,” that’s ridiculous.

Also, someone should tell the author that the point about superhero films is no longer accurate; they’re not doing well at the box office anymore.

Some of the claims here are shocking in how ambitious they are. Scientists may just be dumber than they used to be, and that’s why we don’t get transformative inventions as frequently? That strikes me as one of the least likely reasons for that (perceived) phenomenon.

Liberal parties of the world, I have seen what you've done for others...

Now that's what I call an opposition party.

No thanks. We’re full.
November 12, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Per usual, the Guardian does a better job of covering this issue.
November 9, 2025 at 1:45 PM
Nothing new here, but it continues to be wildly irresponsible (probably purposeful, if we’re being honest) of the NYT to continue to present the claims of fascists without acknowledging the near-certainty that they are lies.
