But Caspar starts to not fall for the charming moments, but rather for the small talks, gentle and sweet side he brings out of sylvain, and sylvain doesn’t know how to handle it. He’s slipping faster than he can catch himself.

Caspar thinks he’s hiding it super well but he’s not. not to sylvain. Sylvain, valuing the trust they’ve built, and how much Caspar knows about him, due to their shared experiences, shakes him to his core. He knows Caspar will pick up on his genuine feelings eventually and that’s his worst fear.

So anyways let me make this about caspvain rq lol- Caspar is EASSYYY to read. Sylvain messes with him teases him and gets a kick out of caspars flustered reactions until he feels it get serious and freaks out realizing Caspar is genuinely falling, and he can’t accept he is too.

He’s lost himself in his own delusion while still being self aware of what he’s built up for so long, it makes for almost a “higher self” type of conflict. He knows he’s head over heels but can’t choose whether to fight flight or fawn in the situation. Romance isn’t new to him- but love is.

Like he feels like he’s STILL faking it. He doesn’t worry the other person doesn’t feel the same way- he KNOWS they love him and he’s frightened to return those feelings genuinely and fears he won’t even be able to.
