My point was that medicaid *already* provides these benefits, without the need to stand up a new program that would likely take at least 5 years to implement

Thats the way it is in Canada. The federal government distributes money to the provinces and regulates provincial health plans. Just like CMS does with medicaid right now.

Senator, its great that you're for single player. But we need *medicaid* for all.
Medicaid:
- already covers everything with very little cost sharing, unlike medicare
- is much better at controlling costs than Medicare
- already has recent experience with significant population expansions
