I was more meaning what went in the bit i've circled. The blue boarder is straight edged, suggesting there was sth there once over...
Picture is a cropped version of the direction sign photo from the above thread. I have circled a cream "blank" patch on the end of the sign as it looks like a part of the sign is missing. It is an old style blue boardered sign, so thought it may be something interesting.

Indeed!!! Incidentally, it was (weirdly) 66 007 coming trundling through Manchester Oxford Rd first thing this morning that delayed my train to work 🤦‍♂️ must have been all the staff ogling the shiny painted mirrors!!! 😉

Paging @doublearrow64.bsky.social someone has picked up version 3 of the Wayfinding guidance in the North West! Salford Central has had its second resign in 18 months and looks much better for it.

The G-Mex ones are still there although there is only one orange parking sign still showing, the rest vinyled over... I assume they also once lit up at night...

These are in box format, one over the other, with the top one and original orange and white sign with a blue parking P sign, "Central (24hrs)" and a black arrow pointing to the entrance. The former brown sign now has covered over with a black vinyl sticker with white text reading "Parking for Manchester Central" with an orange circle and a white arrow. Reverse of the sign from the previous photo. Both of these have been recovered in black vinyl. Top one has an orange circle with white arrow, a blue parking P sign and "Parking for Manchester Central (24hrs) in white whilst below it now reads "Electric vehicle charging" with a picture of a small car with a plug and an orange circle with a white arrow.

Morning all. Not the best photo sadly but these must be a rare thing on the railway... There can't have been a huge amount of signs with "RailTrack" on them. This one by the cement works near Salford Central is hanging on... @doublearrow64.bsky.social @showmeasign.online @rclongauthor.bsky.social
Photo shows a works sign by the rail line next to a cement works. The sign is a 1990s "RAILTRACK" works notice that is split into various portions. One part has the Railtrack name, another "Railtrack project delivery" and a couple of bonus late 90s "Tarmac" logos... The rest of the sign is sadly hidden by undergrowth.

Another in the series of "odd places to find the double arrow" is this sticker on a lamp post on Ancoats in Manchester. After dismissing this as the new GBR logo (!) I did wonder, has any other logo been adopted by society as much as this one? @doublearrow64.bsky.social

A 1981 Leyland Fleetline with Northern Counties bodywork, freshly repainted into Greater Manchester Buses Limited 1988 variant of Orange and White with large GMBuses "People on the Move" side logos, seen exiting the Manchester Museum of Transport following its launch there at a 1980s event. Freshly repainted into the 1982 launched Greater Manchester Transport brown, orange and white livery is preserved Leyland National MK1 105 HNB 24N, launched at the Manchester Museum of Transport 1980s event back in 2022.

Last ones for til they come back and fit more. Haven't seen any signs on stairs like these or the narrow rectangle too...
New wayfinding sign in narrow rectangular style at Manchester Victoria, showing directions for Platforms 3, 4, 5 and 6 along with the lift. Another new Wayfinding sign at Manchester Victoria alongside Platforms 1 and 2, showing direction to the lift and cycle parking. Usual wayfinding signs fitted to the base of 2 steps on the way upto Platforms 4,5 and 6. Despite being two thirds of the way up the steps, they also have arrows for the lift which are to the left and behind the stairs at Manchester Victoria.

Thought I'd go home via Victoria again and photo some of the other signs that have been fitted. They've only really done signs upto Platform 3. The huge Totem style one above the ticket gateline is not one I've seen before...
