But it really doesn’t! Like you said, if Notre Dame was 11-1 or 12-0 playing MAC teams and the dredge of the ACC (which is their resume outside of USC and removing Miami in this hypo), are they going to be kept out of the playoffs? What does strength of schedule matter to a one loss team?

That’s why it only matters if ND is in and Miami is out. Both teams are on the bubble by losing twice. But only one team beat the other. The committee would be telling every school to never schedule a tough OOC game bc even if you win, it’s irrelevant. ND or otherwise. Miss you on the show, Jess!

I don’t disagree! But this is what the committee would be saying if ND is in and Miami is out. There is zero benefit to playing tough OOC games — if you are a major program and have enough wins, you’re in and even in close comps H2H doesn’t matter. Why should ANY school schedule tough OOC games?

It only matters if ND makes it in and Miami does not. Both teams made their beds if they miss it. But there’s no case for putting ND in over Miami at this point. If they do that, no school should schedule ND going forward; it’s clearly not worth the risk and just helps ND with a “quality loss”

Water temple for 8 year old me was one of those formative experiences where I really struggled with something. It’s an inflection point for me where I activated parts of my brain dealing with calming down, thinking, and overcoming a difficult challenge and then feeling the rewards of that.
