What's odd is that I distinctly remember a TV interview Ten Hag gave right after the scandal broke in which he firmly and eloquently denounced Overmars. He said the right thing, and then he inexplicably reversed course.

Possibly. I think the bigger factor is that tickets are massively overpriced. The Uruguay game's get-in-the-door price was $64, I believe.

That's valid. Clearly there was something amiss there. At the same time, the USMNT had maybe two probable World Cup starters on the field as well.
