A German Jewish linguistics professor chronicles the degradation of language and social relations in his diary. Bleak, and incredibly insightful.

A nonlinear fragmentary oral history of a fictional empire by Argentinian writer Angélica Gorodischer, translated by Ursula K Le Guin. Very original, subtle, and thought-provoking. Also surprisingly funny at times.
