30. The Missing Pages by Alyson Richman. About 3/4 of the way through this book I thought, “I sure hope [spoiler redacted] doesn’t end up being true or that’s going to be a trite twist.” Well guess what? 🫠

29. Unnatural Ends by Christopher Huang. Started off strong with an Agatha Christie-like premise, but the ending was kind of strange.

28. Tenacious Beasts by Christopher Preston. Interesting stories of wildlife recoveries. I esp. enjoyed the 'Ocean Partners' chapter about whales & otters (and their effects on carbon storage). I did NOT, however, enjoy seeing bonobos referred to as "monkeys" in a passing comment.

Excellent theatrical weekend in midtown! Took 14yo to visit the Museum of Broadway & to see Chicago and Six (both 👍👍). Ate at Sardi’s & Ellen’s Stardust Diner. Got offered a hug from Times Square Elmo (declined).

Haha, FB memory from #Halloween 2016 when The Force Awakens was very popular & my costume-making skills peaked.

We Keep The Dead Close by Becky Cooper.
I’m not usually drawn to true crime, but this tale of a Harvard archaeology grad student murdered in 1969 caught my eye due to the familiarity of the setting.

26. The Secret Pianist by Andie Newton.
Another WWII tale that wrapped a bit too neatly but had some good espionage along the way.

Still getting over being sick so no protests for me today, but I did manage a brief jaunt in the woods.

25. Miss Benson’s Beetle by Rachel Joyce.
A friend recommended this & I loved it. A beautiful story about female friendship.
