This month, we said goodbye to our postdoc, Dr. Yi Lin, who has been a massive part of the LDM team for the past 5 years (!!)

In this 20-minute study, hosted on Zoom, we are interested in how 22-26 month old babies learn the names for things in the world around them!

The LDM is excited to announce that grad student, Mohit Mukherji, has had both a paper and a talk accepted for this year's meeting of the Cognitive Science Society!

Mohit will be speaking about his PhD work on the different biases that shape adult word extension.

Last Friday, 3/14, the LDM celebrated our love for math and learning with, of course—pie!

Our research explores how children understand geometry, shapes, patterns and spaces, all of which are key to mathematic reasoning. What better way to honor π than with some delicious treats?

This Saturday and Sunday, the LDM team will be at the National Museum of Mathematics from 10 am-5 pm! MoMath will also be offering free admission to the museum on Sunday from 10am-1pm!

We will have games for 3, 5, and 6-year-old child scientists.

Graduate student, Shannon Yasuda, has a new paper out now in 'Infancy'! The paper explores intuitions that babies have about the social and object directed goals of agents who imitate one another!

On Monday, LDM PhD student, Mohit Mukherji, presented at the NYU Minds, Brains and Machines Poster Conference! He showed his work on word-learning and agents.

We loved seeing all the posters and learning more the intersection between neuroscience, cognitive science, and AI! 🧠🤖

With application season coming up soon, our Lab Manager, Kate, hosted a writing workshop yesterday. She took us through some of the most important tips to keep in mind while applying for scholarships, grad school and jobs.

Last Sunday, the LDM had a great time at the National Museum of Mathematics' 'Free Play' event! We played fun games with some amazing child scientists and got to explore their incredible Math exhibits.
