I really like how the narrator works in both languages. The JP voice feels an ancient fortune teller, and the ENG voice feels like a modern day news broadcaster. Both make the “neutral-voiced omniscient hype man” thing work.
Though the JP version now implies a fallible voice of god.

The JP version confirmed the same voice actress for both, but the dub narrator is a man, but also the character is an ambiguous former-human and the “granny” line is a kind of funny throwaway reveal that the JP voice gives away early.
