Rangers were the original theme home run, having arrows and a bow that you have to 'draw back' before firing.

Arakni huntsman was similar on release, exemplifying the mercenary aspect of assassin work, requiring the player to repeatedly make their mark and get paid.

For example, Lyath is an excellent execution on theme. Being the biggest brain hero in the game (5 int) and a strict downside that highlights his physical weakness is excellent thematics, and it even goes farther by standing in contrast to his own class identity and forcing him to build uniquely.

But back to your frame, you could focus harder on what makes characters appealing to play, and not just in strict mechanical terms. You could add a 7th spoke called "theme" which highlights the characters tie between mechanics and human experience.

If you want to describe how to win a game or develop a strategy against an opponent then it falls flat because there isn't a communication of relationships here, or in the kind of strategies that matter.

Personally that's the kind of frame and analysis I prefer

So I assume by asking this question you're trying to test this frame. Attempting to find areas in which it is insufficient.

I'd argue that if you only want to use this frame to categorize the feel or gameplay of a hero, then you've done a good job.

If this is a frame with sufficient definition and covers enough experiences, then I don't think it would be possible to come up with a hero that exists and doesn't map at all. That's kind of the power of a good frame, it'll overlap with everything to some degree.

Don't drop! I'm gonna go to a PQ tomorrow and I don't expect to win much either. I'm just going to play my best and have a good time.

At the worst you'll end up juicing your stores numbers while contributing to your community's stellar atmosphere! That's a worthy reason in my book.

I think he's referring to the primary earlier this year as the first time voting for him.

Did you digitally change it? Because sharpies can't create gradients like that. This looks very AI made.

I don't think I know anyone in my area who would be willing to throw away a chance to qualify for a pro tour, just so a friend can. Especially since ELO qualification is being removed. (1/2)

If those people exist it's a much smaller pool of people than the ones that regularly get top 8s in multiple pro-quest events.

There's probably a better solution to this, or a middle ground. Maybe previous pro-quest winners can just be barred from top 8, but can still compete in swiss. (2/2)
