We all have to die eventually. Just remember that.

Evil recycles itself & those who don’t learn from the atrocities of the past are doomed to repeat them.

Egads! Lady Liberty literally faceplanting in Brazil is such a symbolic happenstance and an excellent parallel to what is going on in, you know which country I’m thinking of. If anyone’s been looking for a sign of where your democracy and country is headed, I hope this wasn’t it. 😬

🤔Kotkin's right and he's poking a sharp stick into a very current fantasy of the core idea: strongmen look terrifying.. until they suddenly don't. Autocracies project strength, but they're structurally brittle. Always have been, because:
December 19, 2025 at 7:05 AM
Strongmen don't fall because they're weak. They fall because they refuse to admit weakness exists, until it's too late. Putin, Trump-style strongman politics, Orban, Erdogan, all sell certainty, nostalgia, and dominance. What they actually deliver is fragility disguised as swagger.

At the Pentagon this is a constitutional problem. Chaplaincy exists to support service members' faith, not to bless policy, weapons, or war itself. Once you cross into sacralizing violence, you're not ministering, you're recruiting God for the state.
December 19, 2025 at 6:23 AM
Christmas + militarized theology is a category error. Christmas is about vulnerability, not dominance. A baby, not a blade. Peace on Earth isn't symbolic, it's the thesis statement. Turning that into a sermon about righteous force is theological bait and switch.

It’s true, “Love your enemies" has no footnotes.

There’s No "unless they're foreign."
There’s No "unless national security."
There’s No “unless we really mean it."

You can argue just war doctrine if you want but declaring God likes war is not that. It's idolatry of power.
December 19, 2025 at 6:02 AM
Calling God a "God of war" at the Pentagon is theological malpractice wrapped in political cosplay. If I remember correctly, here are a few straight facts from biblical, civic and moral on Christian theology and divine endorsement of state violence.

Presuming God is on your side is the oldest sin in the book. Literally. Kings do this right before prophets show up to tell them they're wrong. Over and over. The Bible is remarkably consistent on this point:
When rulers claim divine backing, disaster follows.

🤔 If your position can't survive sunlight, you don't close the curtains because you love privacy, you do it because you're afraid of what people will see.

In other words:
- Yeah, there's cash headed out soon.
- But it's being funded from money the troops were already supposed to get, and folks aren't thrilled about the trade offs.
- The "dividend" angle is being called more
PR than policy.
December 19, 2025 at 4:32 AM
As you may know, people in and around the military community are actually having mixed feelings about this "$1,776 Warrior Dividend". They're skeptical and worrying a lot of service members and vets.
December 19, 2025 at 4:14 AM
Just so you know, many service members and vets on Reddit and discussion boards aren't impressed. The top themes of the conversation are:

- This money was already allocated by Congress for housing support, not "extra." They feel it's basically giving them their own money back with a shiny label.

Yeah, that whole episode was a masterclass in procedural duck and cover. As it turned out, closed doors weren't about decorum. It was about damage control. Smith wanted to testify publicly because his case lives or dies on evidence, not vibes.
December 19, 2025 at 3:03 AM
🫴🧨Smith's opening line was a grenade, even in writing. Saying "proof beyond a reasonable doubt" isn't cable news bluster, that's the legal gold standard. Prosecutors don't toss that phrase around unless they're ready to back it up in court. This should’ve jolted the GOP into their sense of saneness.

😒Statements like this replace serious border policy with civilizational trash talk. It's easier to say “these people don't belong" than to do the hard work like modernizing asylum law, fixing visa backlogs, enforcing employment law and resourcing the border properly.
December 19, 2025 at 2:14 AM
😒Rep. Andy Ogles statement is lazy, dangerous, historically illiterate and it solves exactly ✋zero🤚 real problems. I’ll cheerfully dissect Ogles' statement line by line to show y’all how his statement collapses under its own f*cking weight:

If you strip away the diplomatic prose: Trump's stance here weakens Ukraine's negotiating hand, empowers Putin's leverage and fuels EU internal division. Politically, that looks like helping Putin by default even if no one is literally handing over bags of rubles. Russia is cheering this mess.

“Pettysburgh" fits, might even deserve a historical marker, but the real problem isn't just that it was petty, it's that pettiness was the point. The speech wasn't meant to persuade undecideds or calm anything down. It was meant to poke, provoke and re-litigate. A greatest-hits album of grudges..
December 18, 2025 at 10:24 PM
That White House speech was basically pettiness with a podium with his usual weaponized whining, optional reality, downgrading of the office and airing of his personal motivations & grievances. It wasn't leadership at all; it was a running list of who hurt his feelings, wronged him, or..

🙄Talk about a round slap of irony and hypocrisy, it's a real shame Elon doesn't have a shred of it. After all, Musk knows better than anyone how this scheme works, having benefited most from it - being an immigrant himself while receiving more taxpayer money than every living immigrant combined.

Together, these female border patrol agents ought to bring a class-action lawsuit against the agency. Now is an excellent opportunity to expose the depravity and criminality. Take note of Hague-seth's remark regarding the reintroduction of hazing in the armed forces. That needs keeping an eye on. 👁️

Fixed it👇coz in actuality, it’s Tswamp government, supported by the Republicans that stole & continues to steal everything from struggling taxpayers in order to enrich themselves & their cronies. How conveniently this admin archived their cruelty & corruption for future generations to see & condemn.

However, NATO has never encountered a situation like this before. I'm reasonably optimistic that it will endure, especially when it reduces its authoritarian members, but it remains to be seen if it will make it through this timeframe. “Alliance fatigue" may just as easily become "betrayal galore."
December 14, 2025 at 3:50 AM
🤨FYI Elon Musk, woman IS a category that biology, medicine & society all use-imperfectly, but with more nuance than a yes/no organ checklist. Sex traits vary. Development varies. Age matters. Medical history matters. Pretending otherwise doesn't make things clearer, it just makes you, loudly wrong.
