The resurrection movie is a sequel to the recap movie time line specifically and I'm pretty sure the Rose series is a sequel to the movie continuity as well.

So far I've watched the resurrection movie, rose of the recapture, and half of the akito oavs. They are all pretty good but not as good as the series was at its end.
