Ridiculous and/or horny writer of ridiculous and/or horny fanfic (and other things too)

(He/They)
Well, the flip side is that it is the movie staking its position as the latest addition to the endless cultural catalogue of "feel sympathy for the worst people alive"

Is this a hive mind situation or a 'your headmates are now packmates' situation?
July 22, 2025 at 9:27 PM
You should not only leave that in but we should start putting it into every piece of writing we produce, collectively.
July 22, 2025 at 5:11 PM
I always liked the 'we pack bond with ANYTHING' ones, myself.

Ala "If you have a human on your crew and it gives its multitool a name, make sure it can keep that one or else it'll get sad."

Or "If you're going to a new planet, keep an eye on your human because it will try to pet EVERYTHING."

I do think I learned some valuable things about fascist thinking there, at least.

So during my highschool years me and a handful of other like-mindeds there would mock and gawk and shake our heads at the state of things that such things could be said. Until recently I thought we were being too cynical taking those statements as indicative of the wider culture. Now I am unsure.

which was (still is?) A collection of wild shit religious fundamentalist say, from the bigoted to the desperately justifying the ironclad adherence to their various faiths (the phrase "God has a vagina in his penis" is burned into my mind)
July 21, 2025 at 6:23 AM
Yeah alright sure

Anti social tendencies made it hard for me to feel like I could contribute to any big conversations, but the community small enough that I could have conversations in was a site called "fundies say the darnedest things"
July 21, 2025 at 6:23 AM
It really boggles my mind how you can see this and not come to that conclusion first, to say nothing of whatever weird leaps you need to reach 'log off the internet' as being the path.

(Where the hell else are you supposed to get supplies to do all this, even?)

Every FFFUCKING time I interact with you I end going 'W-Wait, hang on-'

Majin-Thanos-Snapping nerds into treats specifically for me is uh, oh, uhhh, ooooh
July 20, 2025 at 3:43 PM
So Ayin's gonna give me ice cream, right?
July 20, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Me, locked in the basement: "What do you WANT from me!?"
The intercom on the wall: "All the information is on the task."

I think people are just good at sniffing out the difference between exploration of a theme done in earnest and just trying to flip concepts around to be edgy.

Commissar Caiphas Cain is officially perpetually alive in administratum records even long after being buried with honors because he has been declared dead only turning out to have survived so many times they were just sick of dealing with the paperwork and declared him bureaucratically immortal.

I think it's important to remember that genre is descriptive not prescriptive. We're assigning stories names for the shape they are, not trying to squeeze them into specific boxes. The problem is when 'I want to make mechsplo but different' becomes 'I want to make a table with no legs'
July 10, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Oh yeah, I wasn't even speaking specifically about Hex. I meant people who do that sort of thing in general, but I have heard some rumblings. Nothing concrete, though.
July 10, 2025 at 6:46 PM
I don't know how to say more without getting unnecessarily mean.
July 10, 2025 at 6:38 PM
It smacks of 'This ain't your mommy's mechsplo' when the genre (at least that of it with the handler/hound dynamic) has only been in the queer zeitgeist for, what, two years?
July 10, 2025 at 6:33 PM
If you have critique, then make it sure, but TRYING just to be subversive, just to - I don't know - have something new? Shock people?? It betrays an insecurity, to me. Or that you're not here for the genre's own merits.
July 10, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I think it's a product of mechsplo's existence on the internet, and the internet's wider mangling of culture, but people are rushing to be 'subversive' with this genre way way too quick.

Matter of tastes, maybe, but 'subversion' is a terrible thing to aim for, at least for its own sake.

Oho, I have some OPINIONS about this, Bun

(That would, I think, mostly fall in line with yours, for the record, just going off of patterns)

Lots to unpack here, but I think the most embarrassing thing is that he said 1/5th fewer words than the bot. Imagine being a conversational vacuum even when talking to a wall.
