I've always loved "benign" surrealism (aka I don't like horror). Especially in video games. The sheer ridiculousness that leads normal people to ask how it makes any sense.

to be problematic I think I just like shounen character designs more because they're so colorful and flamboyant. there's only so many series I can watch of generic dark haired protag in everyday clothes sometimes with glasses before their stories all kind of merge together
