My comment wasn't about Trump not being involved as he was but more that it was only temporary

No he didn't. Tate was released by Romania briefly on promise he would return for his trial. Both Tate brothers returned to Romania as part of due process.

There is no such thing as St Patty's day.the short version for Patrick is Paddy so at best if you have to shorten it make it St Paddy's day but never St Patty's as its disrespectful

It's not really a shocking claim. His Canadian grandfather chose to move his family to South Africa. They were fleeing and it wasn't straight after the war but it was after the Nats came to power in 1948 and then started implementing the Apartheid state as he liked and admired it.

They just want more white racists that will vote for them. They are not an oppressed group.

Agree, likely as it stopped just after he finished high school. He makes me embarrassed to be Saffa - I went to one of the same high schools as him (not same time), am white and work in DEI so not everyone from SA thinks like him but I'm guessing many assume we do.

Good for them. Good to hear of more of these rather than the tiny amount of companies apparently rolling back

Some South Africans were Nazi sympathisers during WW2 and it certainly aligned with Apartheid beliefs

His mom is Canadian and his grandfather and great grandfather were American so I think you can keep him as SA doesn't want him
February 5, 2025 at 2:13 AM
Not that I'm defending him as I can't stand him but I believe he left SA in the 80s during the height of Apartheid which only ended in the 90s
February 5, 2025 at 1:38 AM
Not really. White South Africans are not one homogenous group - they came to South Africa at different times and from different European countries - Dutch, Germans, French Hugenouts, British, Portuguese, Swiss, Greek Cypriots. Some were Nazi sympathisers, most were not.

SA later became independent from Britain and Apartheid was brought in when the National Party won in 1948 elections. Segregation was then brought into law but some of it was enforcing things started by the British
