Our Whale’s Tongue Agave is blooming! Happens once when they’re about 10 and then the plant dies. But first they put on a show: 25-ft stalk, yellow flowers, pollinated by bats!

My family goes back generations—mostly Ipswich but now Rockport and Glostah. And I made a mistake when typing out the name! Should be Plum Island. Ha! Brain freeze. And not sure you can edit posts here? Anyway. Are you also North Shore?
