The toy mouse is dead. After audaciously dangling on a string, the rescue cat fought it all night, with valiance rarely seen. When it escaped its string, she chased it. Casualties of this great battle were the house plants and my sleep, but rest assured, the toy is dead, and in the bin.

I did it!
I finished the 2nd draft of my WIP3, four years after I finished the first one. It's definitely in need of a structural edit but it feels so good right now to have built the foundation that a strong story will now grow from.

It's a slow morning, the thoughts are there but the translation tool, from imagination to words, is tired. That's ok, these woods are a pleasant place to linger. I think it's safe to say I'm writing the calm before the storm.

I rescued a cat last night, she'd been born on a farm that was simply overrun with cats. She's very scared and hiding right now, but I woke up to find footprints on my writing chair, so I think we will be ok.
