IDK bro I have no doubt the kind of Take this is clearly trying to get out ahead of exists and feels bad to see about your work but I feel pretty strongly that the correct response there is not to declare its holders your core audience, but to log off. Like, this is from a Goodreads review that mentions (positively) that Acknowledgements paragraph. "I liked The Shining's discussion of alcoholism more than the haunted house story." "I liked Midnight Mass's commentary on religion more than the part with the vampires." Why are we catering to this???
