No lava fountains today at Volcanoes NP, but I did get to see Imi'kai, an approx 9 year old endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal, one of a group of around 13 resident seals in the southern part of the Big Island.

Got up early & headed over to the Hilo side of the Big Island of Hawai'i today. Driving through lava fields where you can still see the lava flow pattern in the black rock is mind blowing. And I'm definitely going to need the extra backpack I brought :)
