Agree with you on the balance. It feels like a vicious cycle Democrats could end it, but the cost is steep. I’d rather see a fair system, but will the GOP ever play ball?"
on the balance i think partisan gerrymandering is bad but the only way it ends is if democrats weaponize it against republicans everywhere they can. wiping out republican lawmakers in blue states might bring the GOP to the table to end the practice.

Genuine question: why do so many folks collapse hundreds of legislative races into “swing states”? Is it media framing, or do we just not teach how Congress actually works?
one thing i have noticed is a lot of folks do not seem to understand the difference between a presidential election and 435+ legislative elections. i have seen any number of people say that you could subvert the outcome this november by targeting “swing states,” which does not make any sense.

Gripes don’t redraw maps. Action does. California just proved it.
Thank you to everyone in CA including the elected officials and voters who successfully accomplished mid-decade redistricting to swiftly counter the attempted theft by Texas.

Action and tangible results are so much better than gripes and strongly worded letters.

Greed is also a part of what is killing this country
If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Democracy dies in oligarchy.

A brief existential crisis, immediately solved by remembering our ancestors were actually… competent 😂 Dutch ovens stay undefeated.
Realized we were out of foil to cover a dish I was cooking in oven and had a brief moment of "what the heck did people do before foil??" and then remembered I have several dutch ovens.

Done.
