A bit late to picking it up, but Baby Steps is easily one of my favorite gaming experiences this year. Deeply satisfying, immersive, unbelievable levels of psychic damage to my person... It is perfect and mundane and absolutely genius!

It's amazing to play a game that has such confidence in their world and the quality of their art that they can provide an opportunity to just sit and sing for a while and know that folks will be eager for the chance.

If there is anything that stands as a testament to the bond we built as a team, it's over 200 people showing up - most of us no longer working at the company, driving from other cities, flying in from other states, spending our own time and money - to take a photo together.

Happy 10 years, Heroes.

Painting #4 - Tried to rip this out as fast as I could but still ended up getting distracted by details - many of which I'm still unhappy with anyway! Took too long of a break between these so it was REAL hard. Glad this one's over, but eager for the next!

But I'm pretty proud of how this guy turned out.

Digital painting attempt #2: Painted something so soulless last night it looks like an AI generated promotional image.

This was a fun lil study of specular (matte paper, shiny glass, satin seal, gold leaf), but otherwise so immensely boring such that it feels unsuccessful.

Much to learn.

It has come up a bunch on @dlchypetrain.bsky.social over the past weeks, but if you need something to prevent you from the ol' doomscroll, I cannot recommend 'The Devil's Plan' enough. Truly one of the most thoughtful and compelling game shows out there. (And I hear season 2 is on the way!)

One of my goals this year is to learn - with some amount of confidence - how to digital paint. I finally made my first attempt! While this is just a cube, it is definitely the most organized and intentional I have been before.

Eager to see how my progress goes throughout the year. On to the next!

Hit my EOY goal a bit early: Squatted 205lb for 5 reps - a new personal PR!

My most 'viral' tweet was definitely a product of timing. I had some clothes that let me turn a rough cosplay around within a day or so of the trailer dropping.
